Land Rover & Land Cruiser Rental

Kwenda Safari holds a large fleet abailable of fully equipped Land Rover & Land Cruiser for rentals travelling throughout Southern Africa and as far North as Kenya. The vehicles are new models in good condition and well maintained. While we strongly recommend the Land Rover and Land Cruiser as an equally excellent option for a self-drive we can also arrange other vehicle types should you have any other particular vehicle preference.

In addition to the factory fitted features of our 4wd vehicles, the fleet is equipped with proven safari and camp equipment necessary for safari travel, which includes long-range fuel tanks, large fresh water tank with outside tap, a dual battery system, strong aluminium roof racks, sturdey bull bars and a host of other items listed on the list supplied below.

Cat 3:
Land Rover has stopped the production of this most famous and classic in shape off-road model early 2016 and the successor is not readily introduced into fleet management in South Africa. We are therefore not yet in a position to safely offer you this model as a mode for your safari. However, the Land Cruiser as an equally rugged and most versatile 4x4 safari vehicle has successfully integrated into our fleet and will please you with highest off-road capabilties and best reliabily.

All Categories include: fully equipped vehicle with camping gear and equipment for up to five passengers, standard insurance cover, two driver´s, cleaning fees, cross border travel, unlimited kilometres, our own 7days/ 24 hours roadside assistance, airport transfers.

Service Delivery: where serious mechanical failures occur due to standard wear and tear and which cannot be repaired timeously a replacement vehicle will be supplied within 24 hours of diagnosis. This relates to the countries of South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Southern Mozambique and the Livingstone region in Zambia. In countries further North replacement time is within 72 hours.

Prices and Special Conditions: Prices are based on an average rental of three weeks at standard conditions commencing in Johannesburg; please contact us with your intended travel dates for a detailed quote and to see if special rates are applicable; we also offer special conditions for long term rentals or the simultaneous rental of more than one vehicle. 

"Frequent-Explorer" Status:
 
our return customers automatically qualify for our Frequent-Explorer Status which provides for special conditions on forthcoming bookings. 

Booking Assistance:
 
for our clients we offer booking assistance en route; well in advance of your travelling we take care of checking availabilities, do the bookings and settle payments of camps, lodges and activities. And when collecting your vehicle you will receive the vouchers of all your reservations together with travel directions. 

General Conditions:

  • 5 days minimum rental
  • 15% deposit required for booking confirmation
  • Final payment on collection of vehicle
  • Payment can be done by credit card, bank transfer or cash

  • Effective for all quotations as from 02 January 2023
Regional Usage and Insurance

Standard insurance cover is included in our daily rental rates and covers comprehensive insurance with excess for South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia and southern Mozambiqze (south of Zambezi River/ Beira).

Travelling further north including northern Mozambique, Angola, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya or Uganda is also possible but requires special permission prior to departure and which will be levied with an extra fee for the extended range. 

Insurance excess:
Excess for damages to the vehicle and theft is vehicle specific and as follows:

  • for all equipped vehicles 1.700 EUR
  • for all unequipped vehicles 1.200 EUR

Additional insurance cover is available at additional cost which offers reduced excess for both collision and theft damages.

Optional insurance cover:

Standard Plus:
50% reduction in collision damage excess;
Towing after accident  within South Africa, Namibia and Botswana included;
Surcharge per day: 6 EUR.

Super Cover Select:
Zero excess applies and includes tyres, glass and undercarriage;
Towing after accident  within extended range of South Africa, Nambia and Botswana, Zimbabwe, Livingstone region (Zambia) and southern Mozambique included;
Significantly reduced deposit only 120 EUR;
Surcharge per day: 19 EUR.

Insurance Conditions:

  • Minimum age of driver 23 years, exceptions on request
  • Valid drivers license to be presented on collection of car
  • Credit card required for deposit of excess, reduced amount with Super Cover Select
