Routing:

Our "Botswana Namibia Overland" proceeds in the first part our legendary "Magic Botswana" and leads into the neighbouring Namibia. After experiencing an animal rich Botswana Namibia will then reward you with outstanding landscapes and cultural experience. Our routing takes us to remotest locations of the country which are not even experienced by many country experts.

Already on your first day you will leave civlisation and the big town of Johannesburg behind. Crossing the Limpopo River on your second day you will leave South Africa and enter Botswana. You will pull in at the Khama Rhino Reserve, a research station around the last Black Rhinos in Botswana.

Following the virtually endless salt pans of Makgadikgadi you will eventually arrive at the famous grove of the massive Baines Baobabs. On the way and depending on seasonal rains you may be able to watch Africa's third largest migration of Blue Wildebeests and Zebras crossing the Boteti River.

Ultimately and amidst the mighty Kalahari you will reach the lush and animal rich Okavango Delta, the largest inland delta in the world and best to be explored by a "Mokoro" (local dugout canoe) or with a scenic flight from the air.

We carry on North and enter the Nature Reserve of Moremi, will follow the Kwhai River and continue to Savuti marsh known for its large pride of Lions before we arrive at the banks of the mighty Chobe River. The entire region is home to the highest concentration of Elephants in Africa with more than 45.000 animals.

Another crowning highlight of this Safari will be the legendary Victoria Falls dividing Zimbabwe and Zambia. Here the fearless can experience the great Zambezi River on a white water rafting trip down the rapids.

The routing then enters into Namibia and the Caprivi Strip. The first camp is at the Mdumu National Park on the banks of the Kwando River. Blessed with more than 430 bird species it provides a colourful chirping background. The lush and luxuriant oasis of Ngepi is base camp for a visit to Mahango Park.

Departing for a long and very sandy stretch down South to the perhaps most remote Kaudom National Park. This park is characterised by dried out riverbeds and bizarre sere forests although Elephants can be spotted in this harsh environment. Driving requires good off road skills and it will lead to Tsumkwe being the hub of Namibia's Bushmen area. On a walking safari through the bush you are able to learn about their impressive native skills and knowledge.

Etosha Pan is probably the best known National Park in Namibia and a guided game drive at night will impart unforgettable impressions. Located in the far North the mighty Kaokoveld is another rather untouched region in Namibia.

This almost inaccessible area south of the Kunene River is home to the Himba ethnic group. Turning South the Safari crosses the rugged and striking area of Damaraland. Landscape varies from grass plains to rolling dunes and granite hill formations.

Passing the impressive Brandberg rock one will find ancient engravings and Bushman paintings near Tvyfelfontein before eventually reaching civilisation and arriving in Windhoek, capital of Namibia. Here the safari routing ends after almost four weeks deep in the nature.

From here your flight will take you home or we arrange a transfer to Cape Town or back to Johannesburg where this expedition started.

This safari is an absolute culmination for any admirer of true wilderness, ever shifting landscapes and ethnic cultures. A Safari for the true overland enthusiast which also requires uncompromising off-road driving.
